NEWSLETTER – SPRING 2026

“Interior Design, exterior Styling and Redesign: through these three areas of expertise, our agency strikes a resolutely contemporary balance between performance, elegance and sustainability.”

For over twenty-five years, Darnet Design has been part of a constantly evolving world, always seeking meaning and innovation to better anticipate expectations. Beyond our original know-how in interior design, our clients have gradually asked us to work on the exterior styling of the projects they entrust to us. Bringing ever greater coherence and elegance to our creations is a source of constantly renewed motivation for the Darnet Design team. Rooted in the present, our studio also participates in major refit projects. Because a beautiful vessel never dies, both original design and redesign contribute to the same timeless vision of yachting that has always driven us. Thanks to the trust of our long-standing clients and partners, we are delighted that numerous Darnet Design vessels will be showcased this spring, notably at the International Multihull Show. Others are still under wraps at the shipyards and will be unveiled in the coming months. As for the vessel of your dreams, we would be delighted to bring it to life with you, so see you very soon,

Franck Darnet
Founder & CEO

Darnet Design has the immense pleasure, but also the significant responsibility, of being at the heart of the launch of a new brand of high-end catamarans, Simbad. In collaboration with the naval architecture firm Archi Delion, we have designed the first Simbad 55, which will make its world premiere at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte from 22 to 26 April 2026. The shipyard in Alicante (Spain) offers a luxurious catamaran that bridges the gap between mass production and one-off builds. With a name borrowed from the hero of the novel “The Arabian Nights”, the maritime world and luxury are intimately linked. By entrusting us with both the interior design and the exterior styling, Simbad Yachts ensured a project characterised by harmony, both in its lines and in the collaboration throughout its design. The result lives up to their high standards: a catamaran with particularly elegant lines, featuring a large flybridge, a forward cockpit, a seamless saloon-cockpit integration and a very high-end interior.

Just like the Outremer 64, the future flagship designed by the naval architects at VPLP and due to be unveiled at the 2027 Cannes Boat Show, every interior we design is unique. The interior fittings must reflect the DNA of the Outremer shipyard, whilst embodying the distinct personality of each model and its position within the range. By then, the Outremer family will have been expanded with the Outremer 48, unveiled at the International Multihull Show 2026, followed by the Outremer 57 a year later in April 2027. Both are also designed by Darnet Design, as have all Outremer catamarans since 2008. What they will have in common, however, is the contemporary yet timeless elegance that has built the firm’s reputation over the past quarter of a century. But behind the style, we never lose sight of function; the lines must also serve ergonomics, the perceived quality and richness of a material are always suited to marine use, and storage volumes are designed with a specific sailing programme in mind. Proud to be both designers and sailors, our creations always embody every aspect of the term ‘Design’, form is only meaningful if it serves a purpose.

Whether monohull or multihull, even on a large vessel, the interior and exterior are closely intertwined. Advocating for the fusion of interior and cockpit spaces – particularly in the catamarans we design – Darnet Design’s influence has naturally extended to the exterior styling. Our long-standing partner, Privilège Marine, therefore asked us in 2018, in addition to the interior design of their catamarans which we were already undertaking, to enhance the exterior lines of the Privilège Signature 580, and subsequently the Signature 650 (above), in collaboration with the Lombard agency for the naval architecture. For the Explocat 52, after we had designed the interiors, the Garcia Yachts shipyard asked us to propose a different deck plan and helm station. Soon, a range of Power Cats—sleek and attractive—will be unveiled by a new multihull brand that has entrusted Darnet Design with both the interior design and the exterior styling. This latter activity now accounts for a third of the agency’s workload, with staff continuing to draw inspiration from the sculptural lines of the Starlight 106M superyacht project adorning the walls. Bringing something new, innovating in form and function, finding the right proportions and offering the right boat at the right time. “A boat is an object of desire, a dream that one acquires” reminds Franck Darnet.

Nine months for a rebirth: that is how long it took the teams at the JFA Yachts shipyard in Concarneau to enable the 76ft / 23.4m Mahal Ko catamaran to cut a fresh wake in its brand-new livery. Originally launched in 2009, we have redesigned the interior layout and flybridge of this King Cat 76 to last for the next twenty years. As with the 80-foot Magic Cat in 2022, this design, also by Gilles Ollier, has undergone a significant update to its layout: saloon, master cabin, guest cabins, bathrooms, flybridge… With this redesign, our firm is becoming a key player in the rapidly growing refit sector within the yachting industry. Darnet Design is thus fully committed to a responsible approach, preserving the appeal of older-generation vessels without the need for new construction. We enable passion to go hand in hand with reason, but always with elegance.

The International Multihull Show, the unmissable multihull event in La Grande Motte, takes place this year from 22 to 26 April 2026. And no fewer than SIX vessels designed by Darnet Design will be on display. Alongside the world premieres of the Outremer 48 and the Simbad 55, you’ll also find displayed the Privilege Signature 510, the Garcia Explocat 52, the ORC 57 and the Outremer 52. Interior design, exterior styling, redesign – please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange an appointment so that we can show you our creations and discuss your projects.
